Love Stories at Hotel Eden
The walls of the exquisite Roman Hotel Eden, owned by the Dorchester Collection, recall many romantic stories. In 1898, actress Eleanor Duse and writer, poet, and playwright Gabriel d’Annunzio stayed here, and one of the photographs of 1935 captures Marina de Bourbon, the mother of King Juan of Spain, who left Hotel Eden on her wedding day with the Prince of Asturias.
Roberto Rossellini and Ingrid Bergman once rested here with their twin daughters: Isabella and Isotta. The hotel won the heart of Isabella, and a few years later she spent her first wedding night with Martin Scorsese. It is worth mentioning that Hotel Eden has become the venue for the presentation of the mystical film “Doctor Zhivago”, a cult film with an amazing love story, starring Omar Sharif and Julie Christie.
Now a noble hotel located on Via Veneto, next to the Spanish Steps, continues to attract celebrities and movie stars. Famous couples such as Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, as well as Kevin Kline and Phoebe Cates stayed in Suite 515. Emma Thompson and Kenneth Bran chose the elegant Suite 201 with a spacious terrace and views of the Ludovici House. Other equally famous lovers made the same choice – Matt Damon and Winona Ryder.
Hotel Eden is also popular with representatives of the Italian elite: Eros Ramazotti with his first wife Michelle Huntziker were guests of the hotel, and Emmanuel Della Valle, a representative of the Tod’s brand family, heard the cherished yes here.
Hotel Eden, owned by the legendary Dorchester Collection, is located in the heart of the Eternal City – just a few steps from the famous Spanish Steps and the picturesque Villa Borghese. Since its opening in 1889, this elegant city hotel has welcomed members of royal families, dignitaries and celebrities. One of the attractions of Hotel Eden is La Terrazza Restaurant, located on the top floor of the hotel, which offers stunning views of St. Peter’s Basilica and the panorama of the city.
