Val di Fiemme – good skiing and great après ski

In the midst of the Dolomites lies the huge Val di Fiemme valley – an ideal place for those who prefer a varied vacation in the mountains and do not want to pay a lot of money for it. Once in this area, even the most avid skiers and snowboarders will want to try their hand at other sports: they will have a chance to ride from the mountains on a sleigh, learn cross-country skiing and ice skating, at the same time look at professionals and attend ski jumping competitions biathlon and figure skating, which are held here regularly. And from March 10 to March 18, 2012, jazz fans are expected at the 14th Dolomiti Ski Jazz festival: for a whole week they will play your favorite music, and you will be amazed how unusual and unusual it will sound against the backdrop of snow-capped mountain peaks!

Every year from December to April, skiers and snowboarders glide along 140 kilometers of not too steep trails of the three main zones, between which you can move on a ski bass. Most of all, Val di Fiemme will appeal to athletes who prefer leisurely skiing, because the general elevation on the local slopes is not very large – about 1300 meters.

From the capital of Val di Fiemme, the ancient city of Cavalese, the lift will take you to Alpe Cermise, from the small village of Predazzo to Latemar, these areas will suit experienced skiers: the nearby slopes, although not very steep, will be uncomfortable for beginners. In these places freeriders usually come off – there are many convenient unmarked slopes around.

Booking a hotel in the capital is also for those who are not going to spend their holidays exclusively on the slopes: medieval monasteries and ancient churches, all kinds of restaurants, bars and noisy discos, a swimming pool, an ice rink and a tennis court – all this awaits you in Cavalese. You will have the opportunity to try on plain skis: in total, 150 kilometers of pistes, where world championships are constantly held, are laid in the vicinity of the main city of Val di Fiemme, near Lake Terezo and in Passo Lavanza. Or do you prefer trekking? 30 kilometers of marked routes at your service!

It is better for novice athletes to look for a hotel in the third ski area of the valley – in the vicinity of Bellamonte, where there are quite a lot of easy tracks. And when you get tired of driving along the easy slopes, and you feel that you deserve more, on the ski lifts you will be able to move to the larger area of the Three Valleys – Tre Valley. If you purchase the Dolomiti Superski ski pass, you can ski and ski not only in this valley, but also experience the slopes in Val di Fassa and San Martino di Castrozza.

The Val di Fiemme Valley has one more advantage: it is preferred by economical tourists. All elite and absurdly expensive resorts are located in the distance, and therefore prices in hotels, rentals, and shops will undoubtedly please budget-conscious lovers.

If you arrive at the airports of Verona, Bergamo, Venice or Treviso, use the special Fly ski shuttle bus that runs between the resorts of the Treviso region every season. One way tickets will cost 18 euros, round-trip tickets – 30 euros. There are a lot of people who want to get to local resorts, so try to book your seats online in advance.
