In 1898, actress Eleanor Duse and writer, poet, and playwright Gabriel d’Annunzio stayed here, and one of the photographs of 1935 captures Marina de Bourbon, the mother of King Juan of Spain, who left Hotel Eden on her wedding day with the Prince of Asturias.
